Our Story
Who we are
A young Tunisian designer, building her first house from a single idea.
Maison Caracal doesn't begin with a collection. It begins with one object, made properly, by someone who wanted to bring an idea into the world instead of waiting for permission to.
There's no backlog of designs, no warehouse of samples. There's a first piece — considered, tested, and made by hand — and everything else will be built outward from it.
That first object is the Vanity Case.
The name behind the Maison
The caracal moves like it already knows where it's going.
A wildcat built from contrast — low and quiet in the body, sharp and unmistakable at the ears. Nothing about it is loud, and nothing about it goes unnoticed. That's the tension the house is named for: poise that doesn't need volume, power that doesn't need announcing.
The caracal's tufted ears are engraved into the house's hardware — a quiet signature, not a logo shouting for attention.

The first object
The Vanity Case.
26 × 18 × 16 cm, with 14mm-radius corners so the silhouette stays soft in the hand. Built in full-grain calfskin in an ivoire cream, with every edge hand-painted rather than left raw.
A brushed-gold signet pin, engraved with the caracal's head, is mounted from inside the lid — so the mark is felt before it's seen. The handle is flat, supple leather, hand-stitched in ivory thread. A double gold zipper runs across three sides for a full, unhurried opening.
Inside, the case is fully lined in leather, with three stitched compartments sized for cosmetic bottles, and a tone-on-tone caracal head blind-embossed into the back wall — a detail meant only for the person who owns it.

Made with intention. Not volume.
Nothing leaves the atelier until it's been tested by the same hands that designed it.

Every piece starts from proportion and function — how it sits, how it opens, how it's carried — before a single material choice is made.

Handcraft
Leather is cut, edge-painted, and stitched by hand. Hardware is fitted and checked piece by piece, not batch by batch.
